The Marriage Mentoring Network Inc. (TMN) began in the fall of 1997 when Gene Redd, Marsha Redd and Diane Atkinson came together to explore various ways of growing within their Christian walk. This inspired a series of subsequent meetings, and eventually the three began inviting others to participate. In 1998, they gathered at local diner after Sunday church services in Brooklyn, NY. This relaxed atmosphere brought a heightened sense of transparency to group discussion. It was also during this time that discussions began focusing more and more on male and female relationships. As time progressed, attendees began marrying, which ultimately brought maritial issues to the forefront of group discussion.

In 2001, group meetings were moved to slightly larger venues within the New York metropolitan area. During this period, leaders began to emerge within the group and organizational direction was introduced. After the birth of their daughter Alexandria on January 23rd 2003, Gene and Marsha decided to transition this informal meeting group into a formal organization. On April 16th 2003 The Marriage Mentoring Network was established as a New York State-based Non-Profit Corporation. Today TMN operates under 501c3 tax-exempt status.

TMN views marriage as "a lifelong commitment to oneness between a man and a woman under God’s covenant authority." TMN also believes that the health of a marriage relationship is inherently linked to a couple’s relationship with God as expressed in the person of Jesus Christ. We endorse and promote those relationship principles that are consistent with the heart, mindset, and character of Jesus Christ as expressed in the bible.

Though TMN’s core ministry focus is on married couples, TMN graciously offers its support to all engaged, single, separated, and divorced individuals looking to strengthen the quality of their relationship with Christ and others.
