The Marriage Mentoring Network, Inc.(TMN)

"Strengthening The Quality of Relationships"

TMN EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Marriage-Mentoring Network Inc. (TMN) is a New York State based 501c3 Non-Profit Corporation comprised of individuals who are committed to helping others strengthen the quality of their marriage relationships.

TMN offers relationship support and developmental services through an organized network of individuals whose hearts are committed to serving married couples. We design meetings, workshops, seminars, and various other events to encourage couples, and help them thrive within their relationship experiences.

TMN believes a marriage to be defined as a lifelong commitment made by a man and a woman under God’s covenant authority. TMN also believes that the health of a marriage relationship is inherently linked to a couple’s relationship with God as expressed in the person of Jesus Christ. We therefore endorse and promote those relationship principles that are consistent with the heart, mindset, and character of Jesus Christ as expressed in the bible.

Though TMN’s core ministry focus is on married couples, TMN graciously offers its support to engaged, single, separated, divorced and all other individuals looking to strengthen the quality of their relationships.

 TMN ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY

The Marriage Mentoring Network Inc. (TMN) started as a bible study group in the fall of 1997 when Gene Redd, Marsha Redd and Diane Atkinson came together to discuss various ways of maximizing their Christian walk. After the success of their initial meeting, other meetings soon followed. Eventually, the three began inviting others to participate. In 1998, meetings were held at a local diner after Sunday church services in Brooklyn, NY. This relaxed atmosphere brought a heightened level of transparency to group discussion. It was also during this period that discussions began to focus more upon the subject of male and female relationships. As time progressed, more meeting attendees began to marry, and this ultimately led group discussions towards marital issues.

In 2001, group meetings moved to slightly larger venues within the New York metropolitan area. During this period leaders began to emerge within the group and organizational philosophies were introduced. After the birth of their daughter Alexandria on January 23rd 2003, Gene and Marsha decided to transition this informal meeting group into a formal organization. On April 16th 2003 The Marriage Mentoring Network was established as a New York State-based Non-Profit Corporation. Today TMN operates under 501c3 tax-exempt status.

TMN MISSION

TMN will challenge, encourage and empower individuals to achieve the highest levels of intimacy in their relationship with The Lord Jesus Christ, and in all other relationships that exist within their life.

TMN will share our collective body of knowledge, personal experience, and biblical understanding in a way that positively impacts the quality of marriage relationships as a whole.

TMN will exemplify the depth of character, integrity and leadership qualities that will radically transform the internal and external communities that we diligently look to serve.

 TMN VISION

Our vision is to establish a highly organized, global network of relationship support for married couples around the world. We intend to accomplish this vision by sending qualified mentors out into the marketplace to support, encourage and empower those individuals who wish to strengthen the quality of their marriage relationship.

In order to effectively reinforce this vision at the local level, TMN hosts monthly Skill Development Meetings at various locations throughout the U.S. These meetings are primarily designed to:

(1) Train TMN Leaders for local, national, and international ministry outreach
(2) Sharpen day-to-day relational skill sets of TMN Leaders, and
(3) Promote one-to-one & couple-to-couple mentoring paradigms within our organization.
